Today we are going to go over the steps that you must take to fix the “ManagerAppInstallRequired” error that you may see on your Ledger Live account. This problem only takes a few minutes to resolve and usually is a quick fix. If you have any questions, you can always comment, and we can help you. If you are unsure how to add and uninstall apps on your ledger, there will be a section below that will walk you through the steps.
Step 1: Uninstall your Bitcoin app and then reinstall the latest version. Even if you are having a problem with only Litecoin transactions, it’s essential to follow this step. If you are having trouble with aa ERC-20 token, you can uninstall Ethereum and reinstall it. This typically fixes the problem since you likely had an outdated version of the app. You will see an option under your manager that says “Update all” when you have updates available for your crypto apps. You can see this option pictured below.
Step 2: Make sure you have the latest firmware downloaded; if you’re an update or updates away, then you might have a connection issue, which is causing your manager to not link.
Step 1: Go to your Ledger Live application and click on “Apps installed,” which is located on the main screen.
Step 2: Scroll or search through your apps until you find the one you want to uninstall and click on the trash can next to it. Wait for the process to finish before you leave the Manager.
Step 1: Search your apps through the “App Catalog”.
Step 2: Click “Install,” which is to the left of the trash can. Wait for it to finish processing.
Step 3: Your app has now been added to your account, and you can begin using it.
Ledger Support has a good team, but they are flooded with emails and requests all day long, with typically easy fixes. So, if you have any problems, feel free to check out our other helpful guides and see if your question is listed there before contacting them as it could be a simple fix. Regardless of what problem/error you are experiencing, your cryptocurrency will be safe if you own the recovery seed, which is why it is recommended to be written down and secured in a lockbox.
