SBI bank holders can transfer their bank account to another branch of SBI online, but if you don’t know the online process then you can request your branch to transfer your account to another branch. For that, you need to write a request letter to your SBI bank branch manager

Sub: Account transfer request letter to SBI Yendada branch.
I, Konuru Sirish, account holder of your bank with savings bank a/c no 2345XXXX67. With due respect I would like to request you to transfer my savings bank account to SBI Yendada branch from SBI BHPV branch.
Recently we moved to Yendada, and it will be more convenient to me if my account transfers to the Yendada branch.
So please transfer my bank account to SBI Yendada branch.
(You can do the same process in SBI Yono mobile app also)
Step 1: Login in your SBI internet bank dashboard with your user id and password.
Step 2: Now go to e Services in the menu bar.
Step 3: click on transfer of savings account.
Step 4: Now click on the branch name and select the branch to which you want to transfer your account. After selecting the branch the branch code and name will be automatically shown.
Step 5: Tick the terms and conditions box and click on submit.
Step 6: Now click on confirm, and an OTP will be sent to you registered mobile number.
Step 7: Now enter that OTP and submit your request. (Within 7 days your account will be transferred to new branch)
7days. Your SBI bank account will be transferred to another branch within 7 days from the date of requesting branch transfer.
You can see the branch name of your bank immediately after login in your SBI internet banking portal under account details.
If you don’t have internet banking then you have to visit your new branch to get an updated bank passbook.
Only IFSC code will change. Remaining details like your bank account number and CIF number.
Yes, you can have multiple SBI accounts, but all those account numbers must be under one CIF number ( Customer Information File).
Apply for a new bank passbook in your new SBI branch and update your new IFSC code in all transactions wherever it is required.
( Note: If anyone wants to transfer money to you and if you give your old branch IFSC code then the transaction will fail, you have to give your new branch IFSC code.)
